Grants Available to Implement Water Quality Improvement Projects in Detroit River Watersheds
Do you live in the Canard River, Little River, or Turkey Creek watershed? If so, you may be eligible to receive grant funds to conduct water quality improvement projects from a variety of sources. Incentive grants are available to landowners in certain areas of the watershed who wish to create wildlife habitat, upgrade faulty septic systems, plant trees, or implement soil erosion control projects. These projects are just some of the examples of projects that might be eligible for incentive grants. Many of the grants are part of a program to clean up the Detroit River, one of the International Joint Commission's 40 (remaining) Areas of Concern in the Great Lakes.
Contact the DRCC or one of the organizations below if you are interested in obtaining further information.
